Starting from Sexual Assault Awareness Month to World Autism Awareness Day; from Easter to Ramadan and from World Parkinson’s Day to many more… April is a month full of community events. To mention a few more; have a look below:
April 7 marks the celebration of World Health Day each year. From its inception at the First Health Assembly in 1948 and since taking effect in 1950, the celebration has aimed to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organisation.
The proclamation of 22 April as International Mother Earth Day is an acknowledgement that the Earth and its ecosystems provide its inhabitants with life and sustenance. It also recognizes a collective responsibility, as called for in the 1992 Rio Declaration, to promote harmony with nature and the Earth to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations of humanity.
If ever there was a bird ready to have its own day, it’s the dapper, deep-diving Penguin. Celebrate one of the world’s most beloved creatures and a call to action for their conservation, World Penguin Day, on 25th April 2021.
