Is your company ready to reboot post-pandemic…?

By August 25, 2021No Comments

Due to the pandemic, most companies have had to scale back and/or perhaps even lay off employees…

How can a company bounce back quickly once the lockdown is over and we are in post-pandemic?

Outsourcing some of your services is one way; employing contractors or part-time employees is another… look at ways to reboot with minimal cost and exposure while keeping fully compliant…

Whatever has happened to your company during this COVID madness, there has now been a definite shift in the employment ecosystem, and more companies will be looking to have a flexible workforce so they can scale up or down at a flick of a switch…

Part of the flexibility could mean that employees who previously worked for the company are now ready and able to return as contractors/freelancers rather than full-time employees…

With this shift comes the added compliance and time associated with running contractors or freelancers..!

With all the time, paperwork, compliance, pressure and risks involved, if things go wrong with in-house contractor payroll, it can be a real pain for your payroll, HR department or you…

How is it cost-efficient for your company?

If you are looking to run your contractor payroll in-house, then you will have to employ an individual with several years of experience, who is highly skilled and understands the compliance within the payroll contractor/freelancer world. This could cost you $50,000 to $90,000 + per year.

Or alternatively, you could outsource it to an experienced third-party service provider like Pendragon. In this case, our service fee is 2.5% of the contractor’s earnings, e.g. An income of $100,000 per year would cost $2,500 per year; $10 per day to run. This service fee is inclusive of all workers insurances, ATO compliance and an end of the year tax return for the individuals.

In this new working environment, managing and running multiple contractors/freelancers and paying them sporadically, keeping compliant and not running into legal battles of who is or who is not an employee can be a nightmare!
