Pendragon Management is built upon the principal values of King Arthur – honesty, integrity, wisdom and courage. Our vision is founded on chivalry and equity. These core values are reflected in all of our Olympians representing Australia.
As a result of these values, and CEO John Glover’s love for the round ball, Pendragon has dedicated its support to the Matildas, modern Knights of the Round Table, as they shoot for gold in Rio.

Match One: AUS v CAN

The Matilda’s Olympic campaign did not begin the way they were hoping after going down two nil to Canada. The World Number 10’s put the Australian’s on the back foot early, after Canadian veteran Christine Sinclair intercepted a pass from Laura Alleway, nutmegged Alanna Kennedy and set up Janine Beckie for a goal, less than 20 seconds after the game had kicked off.
Despite Canada being reduced to ten players, after Shelina Zadorsky was shown a red card for an infringement upon Michelle Hayman whilst the Australian sprinted toward goal, and Lydia Williams saving a penalty after a handball decision was made against Caitlin Foord, the Matildas couldn’t capitalise on their advantage, and Sinclair sealed the result for Canada at the 80th minute.

The two nil loss places greater importance on the Matildas next match on Saturday night in Corinthians Arena, Sao Paulo. They play world number two Germany and need at least a draw in order to maintain the logistic possibility of qualifying for the round of 16.

The match kicks off 7am AEST, and with the high quality opposition and the fact that the game is a must win for the Matilda’s, it promises to be an entertaining match up.
